The Snowball Effect

The Snowball Effect is my approach to music... a deliberate meeting point between the cold precision of digital sound design and the humanity of acoustic arrangement. I work in ambient and electronic composition, building pieces from layered pads, piano, guitars and texture... material that exists in liminal spaces. Somewhere between the Cocteau Twins' ethereal approach and Boards of Canada’s experimental electronics shape is how I listen to sound, alongside William Orbit's willingness to move between genres musically.

Tracks like "Adrift" start sparse... just breathing room and piano... before folding in evolving pads and choral undertones. There's a quiet hopefulness in that architecture that interests me. The music works equally well in solitary reflection or as accompaniment to late journeys... it doesn't demand to be the centre of attention.

What I'm after is the space between things. Not music that announces itself, but work that settles into the folds of your day. I'm based in Devon now, and I release music independently on Bandcamp. and on all major streaming platforms. The whole project is rooted in this principle: marry technical craft with something that feels lived in, organic. That tension is where the work lives.
